Day 31-The Tree in the Spring of Life

31 Days in the Spring of Life SquareIt has been 12 days since I was suppose to have concluded the 31 Days in the Spring of Life. It has been 12 days that I have wrestled over how to conclude. The Lord has laid several different things on my heart and what I had started out with is different than what I originally thought. The month of October was a sweet time of seeing different connections along the way in the Spring of Life, but I have discovered I have so much more to learn about Christ and the gift He offers. I will never understand the fullness and meaning of the Spring that gives life, but I would like to share with you three passages the Holy Spirit placed on my heart. I feel there are many precepts to drink from these passages, but I would like to draw attention to the fact that I believe God’s desire for man has always been to live in full connection with Him and His Son.

We see this in the garden of Eden where a river runs through the garden and the tree of life is present.

“The Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there He placed the man He had formed. The Lord God caused to grow out of the ground every tree pleasing in appearance and good for food, including the tree of life in the middle of the garden, as well as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  A river went out from Eden to water the garden. From there it divided and became the source of four rivers.” Genesis 2:8-10

We see it in Ezekial when he is shown the great number of trees that line the riverbanks and how anywhere the river goes there is life.

pear“When I had returned, I saw a very large number of trees along both sides of the riverbank. He said to me, “This water flows out to the eastern region and goes down to the Arabah. When it enters the sea, the sea of foul water, the water of the sea becomes fresh. Every kind of living creature that swarms will live wherever the river flows, and there will be a huge number of fish because this water goes there. Since the water will become fresh, there will be life everywhere the river goes. Fishermen will stand beside it from En-gedi to En-eglaim. These will become places where nets are spread out to dry. Their fish will consist of many different kinds, like the fish of the Mediterranean Sea.  Yet its swamps and marshes will not be healed; they will be left for salt.  All kinds of trees providing food will grow along both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. Each month they will bear fresh fruit because the water comes from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be used for food and their leaves for medicine.” Ezekiel 47:7-12

We see it again in Revelation where the river of living water flows straight from the throne of God and the tree of life is found on both sides bearing fruit and giving healing.

its-leaf-does-not-wither“Then he showed me the river of living water, sparkling like crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the broad street of the city. The tree of life was on both sides of the river, bearing 12 kinds of fruit, producing its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree are for healing the nations, and there will no longer be any curse.” Revelation 22:1-2

The Holy Spirit showed me that wherever you find trees bearing fruit, you also find the Spring of Life. I was also shown that in order for me to live a life that bears fruit, I have to be drinking and soaking in the water from the sanctuary of Christ Himself through His Word. I need to spend more time, not less meditating on it day and night.

“Happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked or take the path of sinners or join a group of mockers! Instead his delight is in the LORD’s instruction, and he mediates on it day and night. He is like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and who leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.” Psalm 1:1-3

I pray you have enjoyed this journey through the 31 Days in the Spring of Life and that you will continue to hunger and thirst after the Spring that gives life.

We are created for more than just to survive in this life.

The Spring of Life desires for us to thrive in His waters and to share this gift of Eternal Life with others.

I would love to hear how the Spring of Life has impacted you this last month. Feel free to leave a comment below.
