What happens when you are having your quiet time and every chapter you read links itself perfectly to the one before and then deals exactly with what is going on in our world? You become overwhelmed with the BIG God we serve and thankful for a God who cares and is in everything. Having not anticipated sharing for a second time this week, I feel like I should just share some of the verses I read this morning and allow God to reveal to your own soul what it is He desires to speak to you.

Oh Lord, draw us into Your word. May we not hide from it in fear.

Have a blessed Saturday!!

“Now when we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we also guide the whole animal. And consider ships: Though very large and driven by fierce winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So too, though the tongue is a small part of the body, it boasts great things. Consider how large a forest a small fire ignites. And the tongue is a fire. The tongue, a world of unrighteousness, is placed among the parts of our bodies. It pollutes the whole body, sets the course of life on fire, and is set on fire by hell.

Every sea creature, reptile, bird, or animal is tamed and has been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. We praise our Lord and Father with it, and we curse men who are made in God’s likeness with it. Praising and cursing come out of the same mouth. My brothers, these things should not be this way. Does a spring pour out sweet and bitter water from the same opening? Can a fig tree produce olives, my brothers, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a saltwater spring yield fresh water.

Who is wise and has understanding among you? He should show his works by good conduct with wisdom’s gentleness. But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t brag and deny the truth. Such wisdom does not come from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where envy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every kind of evil. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without favoritism and hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who cultivate peace.” James 3:3-18

“Love must be without hypocrisy. Detest evil; cling to what is good” Romans 12:9

“Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.” Romans 12:21

fear-of-the-lord-beginning-of-wisdom-proverbs-9-10“He said to mankind, ‘The fear of the Lord is wisdom. And to turn from evil is understanding.” Job 28:28

“Lord, You have been our refuge in every generation.” Psalm 90:1

“Teach us to number our days carefully so that we may develop wisdom in our hearts. LORD-how long? Turn and have compassion on Your servants. Satisfy us in the morning with Your faithful love so that we may shout with joy and be glad all our days. Make us rejoice for as many days as You have humbled us, for many years as we have seen adversity. Let Your work be seen by Your servants, and Your splendor by their children. Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish for us the work of our hands-establish the work of our hands!”
Psalm 90:12-17

“The wicked flee when no one is pursuing them, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
When a land is in rebellion, it has many rulers, but with a discerning and knowledgeable person, it endures.
A destitute leader who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain that leaves no food.
Those who reject the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law battle against them.
Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand everything.”
Proverbs 28:1-5seek the lord
