Wednesday would be our last day in Haiti before leaving early Thursday morning. The team had a huge Christmas party planned for the children at the school. So we awoke and got ready to feed close to 200 children. Actually Mama and her friends spent the day before and early Wednesday morning doing all the awesome cooking for the children and teachers. All we did was get the food ready to hand out and enjoy the smiles on the children’s faces as they enjoyed their only meal for the day. We took a huge group picture and the children who have a sponsor already in the states were given their special Christmas gift from their sponsor. The goal is to have all 150 children sponsored. After a wonderful time with the children we headed down to the river. It was a neat time to walk through the hills of Haiti to see where the surrounding Haitians bathe as well as wash their clothes.
We also took a trip around the corner from Papa’s to visit a former VooDoo Priest. He and his wife were not home, but we visited with his children and the grandmother.
Our last night provided yet another “fake” birthday party for three more specially chosen people. The team then began the sad reality of packing up bags and readying for the trip home the following morning.
Please continue to pray for Papa and the Haitians. God is doing a great work there. Please continue to pray for Silver Springs Baptist Church as they seek the direction the Lord would have them participate in the ministry taking place in Haiti.
