As they say in Uganda, the Devil is not happy. The people of Silver Springs Baptist church has had its share of death, heartache, and trials over the past year since our family has been blessed to be a part of the church. But what happened on Tuesday afternoon would be what some might consider unbelievable. Yes, someone did break into the church, but the story that was reported, Man accused of breaking into a church to pray, is not the same story we as believers hear or see with our spiritual eyes.
“No weapon formed against you will succeed, and you will refute any accusation raised against you in court. This is the heritage of the LORD’s servants and their righteousness is from Me. This is the LORD’s declaration.” Isaiah 54:17
God has been doing some amazing things in the hearts and lives of the people of the church and Satan is not happy.
- When the word of God is preached week in and week out unashamedly,
- When people are surrendering their lives to the one and only who can save them from their sins,
- When God provides the needs of individuals in ways only He can,
- When past alcoholics and drug users find themselves before a holy God and He gives them another chance to take their passion and use it for His glory,
- When children are flooding into the church to seek the only truth the world can not give to them,
Satan is no longer satisfied with leaving the quiet little church on Dobbin-Huffsmith alone.
“Look, I’m sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as serpents and as harmless as doves. Because people will hand you over to the sanhedrins and flog you in their synagogues, beware of them. You will even be brought before governors and kings because of Me, to bear witness to them and to the nations. But when they hand you over, don’t worry about how or what you should speak. For you will be given what to say at that hour, because you are not speaking but the Spirit of your Father is speaking through you.” Matthew 10:16-20
“The fear of man is a snare, but the one who trusts in the LORD, is protected.” Proverbs 29:25
Do not be afraid. This phrase is found over and over in the bible most directly related whenever an angel appears before an earthly being. We too at Silver Springs must not be afraid.
“Therefore, don’t be afraid of them, since there is nothing covered that wont be uncovered and nothing hidden that wont’ be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the light. What you hear in a whisper, proclaim on the housetops. Don’t fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul; rather, fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:26-28
God tells us the only thing we should fear is God, Himself. This fear is a holy fear shared among His children. It is a fear that empowers His children to continue to proclaim His goodness, grace, and mercy from house to house.
“After they called in the apostles and had them flogged, they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus and released them. Then they went out from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the Name. Every day in the temple complex, and in various homes, they continued teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.” Acts 5:40-42
Why do you think Satan desires to bring persecution to Silver Springs? Do you think there is any correlation to the fact life groups are beginning and we are literally about to have believers meeting in homes all over the greater Tomball/Magnolia area?
Will the people of Silver Springs continue to rejoice and count it worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the Name even to the point of being perceived as a hypocritical church on television?
Will we continue to stand and refute any accusation raised against us with the words the Holy Spirit gives us in the proper time?
Will we receive the heritage granted to us as God’s children on earth as it is in heaven?
