Dear Family and Friends,
It is with great excitement and anticipation Scott and I announce God’s calling to once again spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Uganda. Despite what some would consider too much going on in the Zbylot household over the past year, God is not about to allow us to stop the work He desires to do in and through us. For it is often in the busiest of times we experience a peace and calmness in the midst of this world’s activities and see God work in miraculous ways.
Similar to our last two trips in 2007 and 2010, we will be working with the kids at the Lulwanda Children’s Home and speaking at prisons and secondary/college schools to present testimonies and the gospel. Of course while at Lulwanda we will be able to spend time with our beloved Sarah. Unlike our previous two trips, however, we will be participating in a church plant. We will be going to a rural village in Uganda that has no access to the gospel and planting a church in their community. Funds have already been raised to build the building and fund the pastor for the first year. The pastor will be a graduate from the Covenant Bible Institute of Theology in Mbale, and will have participated in many similar church plants as part of his preparation to pastor the church. Over 100 similar church plants currently operate in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, under the leadership Morris and Aida Ogenga.
We would also like to allow you the opportunity to participate in His work as well. The total cost for Scott and I to participate in this mission opportunity is $6200. This cost covers transportation, lodging and meals, putting on crusades, translators, airfare, and ministry expenses while in the country. Upon hearing God’s will for both of us to go to Uganda, we have been saving money from side jobs as well as hosting a garage sale to help fund the trip. Praise the Lord we only have $4100 left to raise!!
We would also like to invite you to participate in the work God is doing in Uganda. Prayer is the first and foremost need for us as we begin the process of training and preparation for the trip. Second, we ask that you pray about what God might be calling you to give towards the work He is doing.
As an intentional prayer partner please pray for those who will hear the gospel for the first time (the many people in the village, the children in the schools, the men and women in prison), pray for all of us on the team, and also our children, as you go before the Lord.
If God would lead you to join us financially, please make your check payable to Silver Springs Baptist Church (29820 Dobbin Hufsmith Rd, Magnolia, TX 77354) and put Uganda Missions in the memo line. Silver Springs will send you a receipt for your tax deductible contributions.
Lastly, whether you participate financially or not, you may receive email updates concerning our trip this summer by simply sending your email address to us and noting that you would like to receive trip updates while we are in Uganda. We will add your email address to the church’s planned email distribution list pertaining to the trip so you can receive the latest prayer and ministry updates. There will also be regular postings on a blog while we are there.
We love you so much and always covet your prayers. Thank you for your prayer support and encouragement as we seek to follow this next step of God’s will in our lives.
Love in Christ,
Scott and Alicia Zbylot
P.S. Here is a Sarah’s latest letter to us. We pray you are as blessed as we are when we see the work God is doing in her as well as the many other children at Lulwanda Children’s Home. Please pray for the children as well as for God to place on your heart the work He desires to do through you this summer in Uganda.
